Hi babes!  Spring is almost in town, or I’d like to think so, and that means it’s time for a little more sunny vibes. It’s time for Spring Fashion. This outfit is one of my favorites atm! I found this outfit in Berhska and I just had to have it! I’m adoring these two trends and combining them is just THE BEST. Pants with a fashionable stripe on the side and a croptop. What more does a girl need nowadays. This outfit had to be combined with some sporty sneakers and an amazing handbag. So that’s what I did. The handbag is from Mimo and the Sneakers are proud Puma’s. Road to my dream body #UpdateOne

Hi guys! It’s been two weeks since I’ve started working out and eating clean to achieve my goal. I still have 5 weeks to go until my vacation to reach my goal, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop after my vacation. Today I’m going to talk about my progress, my food and my struggles during the past 2 weeks.

To talk about my progress a little first. I haven’t seen any difference on the scale over the past 2 weeks. BUT (!) I do see a very big difference in my body. Once again the confirmation that the scale will never be a friend to you!

There are changes that are clearly visible. My butt is a lot firmer and you can start noticing a thin “ab” line on my stomach! My legs feel stronger and they also look the part. The saddlebags are vanishing and I’m loving it! I’m literally finetuning my body and it’s clearly working. The overall fat is starting to disappear but there is one place on my body where the fat is relentless. My muffintops! The fat around this area just doesn’t want to give up and go. But I’m going to keep destroying it until it disappears into smoke!

Changes in my workout plan

I’ve also started to do 40 minutes of treadmill instead of 30 minutes and I feel like this is very effective. I haven’t tried out any of the other machines yet because I really like walking. I’ve also started to walk at a speed of 6 instead of 5,5. I try to keep my heartbeat between 118 and 138. When I keep my heartbeat in between these two cut-offs I’ll be able to burn the most fat! And this is exactly what I’m trying to accomplish.

I also fine-tuned my butt workout. I use the exercises from the following Blogilates videos.

  • Butt lifting and Thigh sculpting workout | POP pilates for Beginners
  • I really like you squat challenge
  • Fat burn total body focus

Foods I’ve been eating. 

  • I’ve been drinking a lot more water but it’s still not enough! I need to drink even more water. The only thing I drink that’s not water is Cola Zero and coffee.
  • When I’m hungry in the evening, I eat some grapes! This really helps me.
  • I’ve eaten very clean the past few weeks! I’ve made a lot of chicken recipes and I’ve also tried two new healthy recipes
    • A Spelt pita with Tzatziki and Falafel! Very healthy and easy to make. I bought the spelt pita bread in ‘Albert Heijn’ just like the tzatziki and the falafel! I topped it off with some raw vegetables like carrots.
    • Spelt penne with chicken and spicy tomato sauce. I also bought all of this in ‘Albert Heijn’. It’s very easy to make and healthy but delicious.
  • I’ve tried not to cheat at all last week. The only fat thing I ate was a Spaghetti Bolognese and one Ice Tea.
  • I’ve also started eating one NAKD protein bar after every workout with banana flavor. It’s soooo good!

Struggles during the past two weeks

The biggest struggle I’ve been facing the past weeks is the craving. I sometimes have an enormous craving towards f.e. pizza or hamburgers. I get very annoyed when I can’t have it and it’s very hard not to give in to the cravings. This is proof of the fact that I’m a little addicted to fat and sugar! Thanks to my boyfriend, who is like a very strict fitness coach sometimes, I’ve been able to not touch these kind of foods. I’ve found that it works to drink a lot of water when I’m craving! Or just eat a banana of some berries. After half an hour the cravings go away slowly.

Another difficulty I’ve been facing is the workouts in the gym. When I need to do my squats and butt exercises, I find it difficult to just do my thing. I sometimes have the feeling that everybody’s looking at me while I’m doing my thing. And sometimes guys do stare, which is kind of annoying. But I’m ignoring it and I’m noticing it less and less every time.

I’ve also been having some problems with the scale. I know that it’s not the best way of measuring your progress but I have to admit that it’s very frustrating when the number on the scale doesn’t change. I need to realize that the number on the scale isn’t as important as the way you look in the mirror. I’m starting to learn this, but it isn’t that easy.

My favorite pieces of the #LETSDENIM collection by Lidl

Hi guys! Today I’ll be talking to you about my favorite pieces from the new Heidi Klum collection by Lidl. I got a lot of clothes from Lidl one month ago and today I will be telling you which items from the collection I like the most. There are a lot of basics in this collection and I really like that because you can combine these basics with a lot of different styles and clothes.

To start I want to talk to you about the leather jackets. They aren’t expensive at all and they are very pretty. They are also made out of very good materials! I got the black and the brown one and I adore the black one a lot. It’s very nice with a dress but also with a pair of pants! This is definitely THE item I like the most from the newest collection. The brown jacket is also very nice and you can combine it with various styles.

A big part of the #LETSDENIM collection consists of … DENIM. A lot of jeans came in my mailbox and I have to say that the materials are very good and high quality, and that all for not a lot of money! There is one of the pants that I adore the most. I’m very into boyfriend/mom jeans atm and there is one of the jeans pants that fits this style completely. This is my favorite jeans from the newest collection, by far!

Not only does this new collection consist of some awesome jeans. Cute spring sweaters also made an appearance. There are different sweaters but I like the grey ‘Sunday’ and the purple ‘weekend’ sweater the most! These are also sweaters that can be combined with a lot of different styles. They are cheap and cute, what does a girl need more?

One of my favorite outfits at the moment. I don’t know if you guys have noticed but there is a new hype in town, or in fashion stores at least. Pants with a nice colored stripe on the side! I adore this new style and I already have 3 different kinds of these pants. I found this one in ‘Bershka’. I also adore the new orange/yellow kind of colour lately so these pants were just destined to be mine. The stripe in my pants has the same colour as the shirt I’m wearing, which I bought online (Nak’d). I topped it all off with some white Puma sneakers (which are very comfortable btw) and my new black oversized jacket from Nak’d (Cheap Monday). It’s a very fashionable, but also sporty look that I just can’t get enough of. What do you guys think? Tell me in the comments below!

Food Diary: Rome

Hi! Welcome to a new blogpost that will make your stomach growl. Today I’ll take you on a culinary journey through Rome.

DAY ONE : 

People who have been following me for a while know that I like the occasional coffee from time to time. Especially in other countries, I like to try out the coffee hotspots. This one is definitely one of THE coffee hotspots in Rome. It’s called Tazza D’oro and The cappuccino was very very good! In Italy the people don’t tend to sit down to drink their coffees but they stand up next to the counter and they finish their coffees asap. Thomas drank a Granita di Caffe. It was iced coffee with whipped cream. And when I say Ice, I literally mean a kind of ice-cube with coffee taste. I forgot to take a photo of this one but you can go check it out in my vlog.

The first day we had some good old pasta in a little cute place. It looked very cosy inside and the pasta was INCREDIBLE. We started off with a combination of different kinds of bruschetta. This was very nice. I had the Lasagna afterwards and it literally blew my mind. There are still pieces of my skull on the walls I presume (haha ha .. ha ..). Thomas ate penne with some kind of cream sauce. At first it took a bit of getting used to the pasta because it was cooked very al dente, but that’s how it should be cooked. He got used to it quite quickly and the sauce was mouth-watering. We couldn’t leave our chairs before trying out their Tiramisu. WOW. You can’t find this kind of Tiramisu in Belgium, you just can’t. It was in-cre-dible.

DAY TWO

When In Rome you need to do as the romans do, and that means eat PIZZA. We found this cute little pizza place on TripAdvisor (Pizza & Sandwich da Pasquale) and decided to go and try it out. When we arrived the owner was very charming and he gave us a taste of one of his pizza’s. We immediately decided to eat there. I can’t describe how this pizza tasted. It was the best pizza I had ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot of them. Definitely worth the visit.

For dinner we decided to go to this place called ‘Osteria del cavaliere’. It’s not in the city centre and we took a metro to get there, but it was seriously worth it. To begin we took meat and cheese platter. VERY GOOD. For the main course I went for a Pasta with a cream sauce and truffle (topped off with bacon) and Thomas had a Pasta with black pepper and cream sauce. Of course Thomas was jealous of my dish, because it was absolutely heavenly. I adore truffle in my pasta and this was one of the best truffle pasta’s I have ever had. Thomas also liked his pasta a lot, but my dish was definitely the winner. The tiramisu was the one that stole the show that evening. It was even better than the previous one. Just WOW.

DAY THREE (last day, already).

When we looked for the best restaurant in Rome there was this one place that popped up in the top 3. It was a sandwich bar and we just had to go and try it out. It’s called ‘Pane e Salame’ and wow this was the best freaking sandwich that ever touched my mouth. We had one with truffle cream, brie cheese and ham and we had one with cream of artichokes, smoked cheese, eggplant and salami. We both liked the one with truffle the most, but the other one was very delicious as well. Definitely worth the visit.

To finish our trip we decided to go get a good pasta. We went to ‘Saltimbocca’. To start we took one of their most famous dishes. Bread with all different kinds of tomato salsa. We also took a little cheese platter. As a main I decided to take some penne with a tomato sauce and parmesan and Thomas took a Spaghetti Pomodore e basilico. I really liked my dish and Thomas enjoyed his meal but couldn’t help being a little jealous of mine. Think he should listen to me more often, no? I liked this restaurant but I would recommend the first two more!

My Workout Plan

Hi guys!

I’ve decided to share my road to a more healthy body with you guys. I’m going to Mauritius in about 7 weeks and I’m going to try and get a beach body (or something close to it) in those 7 weeks. This is going to be hard, but I’m going to try. I thought it could be nice if I’d share my workout plan with you guys, not only because many of you are interested in it but also because I’d like you to work out with me! I think it would be very fun if we do it together. I’m going to keep you guys up to date with my workouts on instastories (@lauralynnsworld). I’m going to give you guys an update every week or two weeks about my progress and my difficulties that week. I will also make some videos about what I ate that week and maybe I’ll even try out a workout? Healthy food recipes will appear on the blog as well.

This is the first post I will write about my “Road to..”. I’m going to lay out my workout plan in general. So here we go.

I’m going to do a workout each monday, wednesday, thursday and saturday. I don’t think I’ll be able to workout every day because I’d like my muscles to recover as much as possible and I also have a busy school schedule that I have to combine with blogger activities. However, if I find the time on one of the days that I’d normally not workout I’ll do some ‘Blogilates’ videos.

First of all, I’ll always wear a fitbit charge 2 when I workout to track my calories and my heartbeat. This isn’t a necessity but I really like wearing it because it motivates me to kill myself during my workout.

On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I will be going to the gym. Each of these days I’ll start with 30 min of cardio. I really like walking “uphill” on the treadmill. I normally walk at speed 5,5 and my hill will be around 6%. The last 10 minutes I walk with a slope of 7%. I’m also going to the other cardio machines and I’ll tell you what I think about them in a blogpost. But at the moment this is what I will do as cardio. You can also do something else like running or on the elliptical machine.

On Monday I’ll focus on my legs. I’ll do 4 reps of each 10 lifts on each leg machine in the gym I go to. There are about 4 machines that train my upper legs and these are the ones I use. I put on a weight of about 18-24 kg but if you’re a beginner you should start with the minimum. After each sets of 10 reps, I wait 30 seconds before I move on to the next set. After my leg workout I’ll do a ab workout with my boyfriend. I do this PIIT (pilates high intensity interval training). This means that I’ll do one movement for about 45 seconds and then I get to rest for 15 seconds. After these 15 seconds I move on to the next movement. The total of movements I’m doing is 7. I got the different moves from the “Extreme Abs” videos on the Blogilates youtube channel. I will put them below but you can also make your own version with the ab videos you can find on the Blogilates youtube channel. If you don’t understand which kind of exercises this are, you can find out easily by searching them on Google.

  • Criss cross
  • Full Sit-up
  • Crunch with legs and arms twisted
  • Ankle reach
  • Corkscrew
  • Heel extension
  •  Earthquake

On Wednesday I’m going to do a big butt and thighs workout. I will also be doing this PIIT style like I described earlier. I’m going to try and change up my exercises each week and I’m going to chose exercises from the following videos.

There are a lot of other videos with a lot of other exercises so if you want to try something else you will definitely find it on the ‘Blogilates’ Channel.

After this I will also repeat the ab workout from Monday.

On Thursday I’ll also start with a 30 minute cardio workout. After that I will focus on my saddlebags and muffintops. Guess what, the exercises I use for this are also from Blogilates. Again I’ll do this PITT style like I described to you earlier. I really like following exercises and I will be changing them up each week. These are only a few examples! I will post the exercises I’ll do each week on my instastories and on my weekly progress blogpost (@lauralynnsworld)

On Saturday I’ll be doing a full Blogilates workout. I’ll start with 28 minutes of PIIT/HIIT/CARDIO. I mostly do the following videos:

Cardio beat workout, Ultimate fat burn workout , Wonder woman workout

This was 2017 & This will be 2018

Hi guys!

Today I want to talk about 2017 and about what’s to come in 2018.

2017 was a big year for me. I grew much more on Instagram and I grew into a better person. This year I got out of my comfort zone. I had always been a very shy girl, afraid to do things alone. I always thought about what other people would say about me when I walked in the room and my heart started racing when I had to talk in front of a group. I have been struggling with a little bit of social anxiety my whole life. I know you might not have thought this about me, because I am so open on Instagram and on my Instagram stories. But in general I’m a very timid person. This year, however, I stepped out of my comfort zone. In school I had to talk more and more in front of people I didn’t know. I made a lot more friends in school. (I didn’t have a lot of friends there, because I was so afraid all the time). I went to class a lot more and I learned that other people aren’t that scary at all! I went to events, by myself… This was a very big step for me. I normally didn’t dare to go to Antwerp by myself without Thomas. But this year, I did and I felt like a true boss-babe.

I came out of my comfort zone not only on this level, but I also learned how to wear other fashion items. Not only sneakers all the time. I also did things I would’ve been afraid to do when I was younger on my travels. I drove around in Spain, I did a big hike in Vietnam, I discovered new foods, I asked people I didn’t know where I needed to go. And I don’t plan on stopping. In 2018 I’m going to get out of my comfort zone even more. I’m going to India with my boyfriend, for the first time in Asia without my parents. I’m going to keep on challenging myself into becoming the woman I want to be. I’m going to work out more, be healthier, go to more events alone, vlog more, be even more open with my followers. You haven’t seen everything yet people!

This year I also learned that it’s okay to let things go. To let people go. Some people are just not meant to be in your life. It’s not their fault but they just don’t fit into your lifestyle and mindset. If they make you feel like a less better version of yourself, it’s time to let them go. This year also taught me to take things more lightly. Don’t take everything so serious all the time. I only have one life to live and I don’t want to worry all the time and let life pass me by. I enjoyed the little things more. TV and pizza with my bf, shooting photos with my boyfriend, enjoying a movie, time with my mom, cuddles with my dog,… Life can’t be a big experience every single day. So enjoy the little things, and make the best of every day you have.

I learned to be healthier, to feel better, to not feel depressed all the time. I travelled to lots of places and I got more conscious about the world. It made me realize that I want to see a lot more of this planet. I let life take me on adventures and I made my life an adventure just by enjoying every minute of it. Thanks to Instagram I had great opportunities. I got to go to a lot of events (like this amazing TUI event), I have a collaboration with L’oréal and I got free food from Deliveroo (I mean does it get any better than free food?).

I started vlogging more often and I discovered that I love this so much. I started cooking more, and discovered that this is also something I really love to do. I also got closer to a lot of people. Friends became best friends. I realized what real friends are this year. I also realized that it’s okay to feel bad sometimes. Just pick yourself up the next day. I also got a lot closer to my animals. This year we got a new dog, a White Sheperd. She made me fall in love with dogs again. I smiled to almost every person I came across. I tried to better myself on Instagram. Better quality, more personal, more sharing. I love sharing everything with you guys so much and I want to try to keep doing it as long as I can. I just love sharing my life with the world. I have always loved this and I won’t stop it for anything. I don’t do it for the collabs or the events, I do it just for me.

This year was a game changer for me. Me and my life have gotten better on so many levels. And I don’t plan on changing this in 2018. I’m going to travel a LOT. India, Ireland, Mauritius, Rome, … Maybe even other countries. I’m going to improve my photos and feed on Instagram and make everything a lot more professional. I’m going to work on a logo for my blog and YouTube. Talking about YouTube. You’re going to see me on there a lot this year. Also my blog will be a lot more active. I will be healthier. Not only will I work out more and feel better, I will also eat healthier. Maybe a little less meat. I will go on as many adventures as I can, and I will finish my Bachelor in Clinical psychology this year! I will reach 20K and I will hopefully get more opportunities thanks to Instagram. I will do a lot more fun things with my friends and with my boyfriend. But most of all, I will be sharing everything with you guys. Hopefully you will be part of my 2018.
