Foods that helped me lose weight!

Hi guys! Today I’m going to share with you the secrets behind the foods I’ve been eating during my new healthy lifestyle. They make me feel more fit, healthy and energized! They did not only help me lose weight and cellulite but they tasted very well! Here we go! You guys do need to keep in mind that there isn’t a magic trick that will help you lose weight. You need to adjust your lifestyle not only food-wise but you also need to incorporate workouts a few days a week! You can’t choose one of my food-tips and not change your unhealthy foodpaterns and think everything’s going to magically change. You need to just start eating healthy and nutritious foods.

  • A LOT OF WATER. Since I’ve changed my lifestyle, I’ve incorporated a lot of water in my life. It’s so healthy for literally everything you can think of! I try to drink at least 1,5 liters a day every day.
  • Green tea. Since I’ve been drinking this I’ve not only started to feel a lot more energized but I’ve noticed that it helped me lose some inches around my stomach. It also has a lot of other health benefits.
  • Apple cider vinegar pills. I’ve been taking these for a few weeks now and I’ve noticed that it really helps. I take the pills instead of pure vinegar because that could be very bad for your teeth. It helps boost your metabolism and it’s just so easy to do every day!
  • Apples. I’ve been eating a lot more apples because it boosts the function of your bowels. This is very good and that helps you to lose more weight. I switched to apples instead of cookies or other snacks! If you eat apples on top of unhealthy foods, it will not help you in any way!
  • Protein shakes and bars. This is also a new snack that I’ve been eating/drinking during the days. I do a lot of muscle training because muscle also burns fat and in order to let your muscle grow you need fuel. Fuel = Protein! BUT! Only eat or drink this if you work out on a regular basis and if you are building up muscle with your workouts. If you don’t do this and consume this type of food, it could have the opposite effect!
  • Every day for almost 2 weeks now, I’ve been eating an egg with some Spelt Bread in the morning. It’s full of protein and so good for your body! It also helps to keep the hunger away for a little while longer!
  • BEANS BEANS BEANS! They boost your metabolism, which helps you LOSE FAT! It’s also very delicious. You can make a healthy Chilli Con Carne for dinner and other bean recipes and you will certainly see the difference!
  • FISH. For a LONG time I didn’t like fish, but I’ve started to eat Tuna and Salmon the past month. It’s so good for your body and it’s also filled with protein. It contains of healthy fats and also boosts your metabolism. It’s very yummy in a salad or with some rice and vegetables! You can find a lot of different recipes online if you’d like to eat some more fish.
  • Chicken. I eat chicken almost every day. This is the food that has the lead role in my diet story.  It’s good for everything. Very nutritious, healthy and filled with protein yet again!
  • Olive oil and coconut oil. That’s what I’ve been using to cook my meals. It’s an easy change that can have a lot of effect! Leave the butter alone people!
  • My mom also makes a healthy variant of mayonaise with Apple Cider Vinegar to put on my healthy sandwiches (SPELT BREAD OR WHOLE GRAIN BREAD)
  • Dark chocolate. Whenever I’m craving something like candy I take a little piece of dark chocolate! It completely destroys my cravings and a little dark chocolate a day is very healthy.
  • Spelt everything. Spelt bread, Spelt Pasta, Spelt life. It’s way healthier than just plain white pasta!
  • Eat a lot of fruit! Especially before 16:00. It’s very good for your metabolism and for your body! Berries are a very good choice for example.
  • Greek yoghurt (natural) with some honey is one of my favorite snacks!
  • Avocado is just one of the best things you can eat when you’re trying to loose weight and above all of it’s health benefits, it’s extremely delicious aswell :O
  • Make everything a little spicier. It helps boost your metabolism which helps you lose more FAT

Dinner @ L’improbable

Hi guys! Last week I went to L’improbable with my boyfiend to enjoy some cosy night out. I got to eat here for free to try out the new menu. Today, I will be sharing my experience with you guys.

The restaurant is best described by one word : Bistronomy. It’s a french mix of bistro and gastronomy. It isn’t extremely fancy but it isn’t comparable to a bistro either. I had never eaten in such a kind of restaurant, so I was very thrilled to try it out.

L’improbable gave me a very cosy vibe and the music they played was ideal. I really liked the brick walls and the bar a lot.

TO DRINK : for drinks I had a mojito and my boyfriend took the house special. The mojito was very good and it had the right amount of sweet and sour. My boyfriend also really liked his house special a lot.

Before I start talking about the food, I want to talk to you guys about the bread with truffle butter we got. I am a BIG truffle lover, I put it in everything you can possibly think of. But I had never tasted it in butter before. A new world opened up for me. This butter was SO GOOD! I can’t exactly describe how it tasted. Okay yes I can… It tasted like heaven.

TO EAT : After enjoying our cocktail and bread, we decided what we were going to eat. As a starter I took the “Foie Gras with plums” and my boyfriend took the “coquilles Saint Jacques”. My Foie Gras was very tasty. I hadn’t eaten Foie Gras with plums before, but the combination was surprising. It was very delicious and I was sad when I realized my plate was empty. My boyfriend also enjoyed his scallops very much. It isn’t easy to make Coquilles but these were cooked to perfection. The plates were also beautifully decorated.

As a main I decided to go for the ‘Iberico porc with Parmesan gnocchi’. My boyfriend chose ‘chicken breast with Polenta fries”. My main… It was sooo good. I normally don’t really like a lot of meat. But this was unbelievably delicious. The porc was very soft and the Parmesan Gnocchi was the best imaginable side dish. I think my boyfriend was a little bit jealous, which was totally understandable. His dish was also very nice, but the Iberico Porc stole away the price for best dish of the evening.

DESERT TIME : We both took the banana with homemade lemon sorbet. I liked the desert but I think It would’ve liked it more if the bananas would’ve been caramelized instead of breaded. The sorbet was homemade and that was something you could really taste.

I really loved this restaurant and I’d definitely want to come back sometime. The food was incredible and I enjoyed it very much. It had been a long time since I had eaten such fantastic food. The personnel was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very cosy and home-y.
I immediately recommended it to my father, to go eat there with his clients sometimes. If you are ever visiting our beautiful Belgian capitol, you should hop into this restaurant, for sure.

FOOD DIARY MARBELLA

 

Hi Guys! Long time, no see.
But I have an excuse. I was in SPAIN. Lucky for you guys, I made a lot of creative content there to share with you. Today I will be writing a FOOD DIARY. I will be telling you what I ate in Spain together with mouth-watering pictures.

NOTE : We ate bread with spanish Iberian ham, sausage, cheese and mortadella every day for lunch. It’s very delicious and very cheap in spain. So I will be talking about what we ate for dinner every day rather than what we ate for lunch. img_0065.jpg

DAY ONE : 

Today we went to Benahavis to eat some delicious food. We went to LOS ABANICOS. It’s a Spanish restaurant located in a very cosy street. The food was sooo delicious. To start we had some fried baby squid (I just love squid so much, who’s with me?). And as a main, we took the Confit de Canard (duck) in Honey Sauce. There are no words to describe the taste of this dish. It was IN-CRE-DIBLE! It is a little bit more expensive, but it’s totally worth every penny.

DAY TWO:

Today we went to Puerto Banus. It’s a harbor with some very nice restaurants and bars. We decided to drink some cocktails before looking for a spot to eat. We ended up in Astral Cocktail Bar. The bar is located next to the beach and has a very nice interior and exterior. In fact, the bar doesn’t look like a bar at all, it looks like a pirate ship (on the inside and outside). It has a very nice vibe and the waiters are very kind. The cocktails are a little bit more expensive, but I guess that’s the price you’ll have to pay for the best cocktails in the world. (nope, not kidding). I drank a non-alcoholic cocktail with lemonade ( because I still had to drive and HEY KIDS, drunk driving is NOT OKAY 😉 ) and my boyfriend drank a peach beach! (a had a little nip and it tasted incredible)

For dinner that night we decided to do something very original. Something we never do. We went to eat Indian Food! (And for the people who know me, this isn’t original at all. We eat it at as many occasions as possible 😀 ). We went to MUMTAZ. You have a nice view over the most expensive yachts in Puerto Banus while eating delicious Indian food. As usual we took : CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA with GARLIC NAN and WHITE BASMATI RICE. It was very good!!

DAY THREE : I forgot to take a picture today. Luckily it wasn’t special. We made pizza’s in our house.

DAY FOUR: 

What we ate today, might shock you. You will probably think : “Why??”. And the answer is :  because we can. We ate INDIAN TAKE AWAY from MINI INDIA in ESTEPONA.
No we aren’t crazy, we just love Indian Food, okay! Stop judging!
We ordered : Chicken tikka masala, chicken rogan josh and butter chicken (and garlic nan and rice). The butter chicken was extremely good and the other two dishes were also very nice! When you get take away the portions are large, and that’s a very nice plus.

DAY FIVE : Today we ate something really special. It was our last night and we wanted to enjoy it. We went to LA ALCARIA DE RAMOS in ESTEPONA. It’s not super expensive but it’s very fancy. As a starter we took the Salmon Carpaccio. It was very nice! I’m beginning to love raw fish very much, and this dish only made me love it even more. As a main, we took the Duck with apples and other stuff I can’t name right now. It was very good. Especially the potatoes blew my mind. And last but not least, the desert. I took profiteroles and my boyfriend took the tarte tatin. OMG, those profiteroles. I can tell you with 100% certainty that those profiteroles came straight out of heaven. They were so good. I can’t even describe the goodness of this dessert. But trust me, it was AMAZING!

Spaghetti Bolognaise à la Laura

Hi guys!

Today I will be sharing my recipe for Spaghetti Bolognese with you. It’s a healthy version of Bolognese so it’s good for not gaining any fat.

This is what you’ll need for 2 people

1 onion
3 tomatoes
a cup of sun dried tomatoes
400 grams of minced meat (mix of pig and ground beef)
3 spoons of Becel Proactiv Délice
3 to 4 spoons of ketchup
2 beef bouillon cubes
Spaghetti herbs (spaghettikruiden)
Black pepper
Salt
Parmesan Cheese

  1. first chop the onion, sun dried tomatoes and normal tomatoes into small pieces.
  2. Bake the onion in a big fryingpan for 5 minutes
  3. Add the meat and bake for about 5 to 7 minutes untill you think it’s ready
  4. add three normal glasses of water
  5. add 4 spoons of spaghetti herbs and black pepper (a little less black pepper if you don’t like it too spiced) and salt
  6. add the ketchup and the bouillon and stir everything into one mixture
  7. let everything cook for about 15 minutes and stir the pot from time to time
  8. add the Becel butter and  3 spoons of Parmesan Cheese
  9. READY TO SERVE!!

That’s it guys! It’s my own creation of bolognese sauce and I am very proud of it! I hope you like it too!
