Dinner @ L’improbable

Hi guys! Last week I went to L’improbable with my boyfiend to enjoy some cosy night out. I got to eat here for free to try out the new menu. Today, I will be sharing my experience with you guys.

The restaurant is best described by one word : Bistronomy. It’s a french mix of bistro and gastronomy. It isn’t extremely fancy but it isn’t comparable to a bistro either. I had never eaten in such a kind of restaurant, so I was very thrilled to try it out.

L’improbable gave me a very cosy vibe and the music they played was ideal. I really liked the brick walls and the bar a lot.

TO DRINK : for drinks I had a mojito and my boyfriend took the house special. The mojito was very good and it had the right amount of sweet and sour. My boyfriend also really liked his house special a lot.

Before I start talking about the food, I want to talk to you guys about the bread with truffle butter we got. I am a BIG truffle lover, I put it in everything you can possibly think of. But I had never tasted it in butter before. A new world opened up for me. This butter was SO GOOD! I can’t exactly describe how it tasted. Okay yes I can… It tasted like heaven.

TO EAT : After enjoying our cocktail and bread, we decided what we were going to eat. As a starter I took the “Foie Gras with plums” and my boyfriend took the “coquilles Saint Jacques”. My Foie Gras was very tasty. I hadn’t eaten Foie Gras with plums before, but the combination was surprising. It was very delicious and I was sad when I realized my plate was empty. My boyfriend also enjoyed his scallops very much. It isn’t easy to make Coquilles but these were cooked to perfection. The plates were also beautifully decorated.

IMG_0368IMG_0370

As a main I decided to go for the ‘Iberico porc with Parmesan gnocchi’. My boyfriend chose ‘chicken breast with Polenta fries”. My main… It was sooo good. I normally don’t really like a lot of meat. But this was unbelievably delicious. The porc was very soft and the Parmesan Gnocchi was the best imaginable side dish. I think my boyfriend was a little bit jealous, which was totally understandable. His dish was also very nice, but the Iberico Porc stole away the price for best dish of the evening.

IMG_0377IMG_0371

DESERT TIME : We both took the banana with homemade lemon sorbet. I liked the desert but I think It would’ve liked it more if the bananas would’ve been caramelized instead of breaded. The sorbet was homemade and that was something you could really taste.

I really loved this restaurant and I’d definitely want to come back sometime. The food was incredible and I enjoyed it very much. It had been a long time since I had eaten such fantastic food. The personnel was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very cosy and home-y.
I immediately recommended it to my father, to go eat there with his clients sometimes. If you are ever visiting our beautiful Belgian capitol, you should hop into this restaurant, for sure.

I hope you enjoyed my blogpost. Talk to you soon!

FOOD DIARY MARBELLA

Hi Guys! Long time, no see.
But I have an excuse. I was in SPAIN. Lucky for you guys, I made a lot of creative content there to share with you. Today I will be writing a FOOD DIARY. I will be telling you what I ate in Spain together with mouth-watering pictures.

NOTE : We ate bread with spanish Iberian ham, sausage, cheese and mortadella every day for lunch. It’s very delicious and very cheap in spain. So I will be talking about what we ate for dinner every day rather than what we ate for lunch. img_0065.jpg

DAY ONE :

Today we went to Benahavis to eat some delicious food. We went to LOS ABANICOS. It’s a Spanish restaurant located in a very cosy street. The food was sooo delicious. To start we had some fried baby squid (I just love squid so much, who’s with me?). And as a main, we took the Confit de Canard (duck) in Honey Sauce. There are no words to describe the taste of this dish. It was IN-CRE-DIBLE! It is a little bit more expensive, but it’s totally worth every penny.

IMG_0088IMG_0089IMG_0092IMG_0091

DAY TWO:

Today we went to Puerto Banus. It’s a harbor with some very nice restaurants and bars. We decided to drink some cocktails before looking for a spot to eat. We ended up in Astral Cocktail Bar. The bar is located next to the beach and has a very nice interior and exterior. In fact, the bar doesn’t look like a bar at all, it looks like a pirate ship (on the inside and outside). It has a very nice vibe and the waiters are very kind. The cocktails are a little bit more expensive, but I guess that’s the price you’ll have to pay for the best cocktails in the world. (nope, not kidding). I drank a non-alcoholic cocktail with lemonade ( because I still had to drive and HEY KIDS, drunk driving is NOT OKAY 😉 ) and my boyfriend drank a peach beach! (a had a little nip and it tasted incredible)

IMG_0100IMG_0101IMG_0102

For dinner that night we decided to do something very original. Something we never do. We went to eat Indian Food! (And for the people who know me, this isn’t original at all. We eat it at as many occasions as possible 😀 ). We went to MUMTAZ. You have a nice view over the most expensive yachts in Puerto Banus while eating delicious Indian food. As usual we took : CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA with GARLIC NAN and WHITE BASMATI RICE. It was very good!!

IMG_0104IMG_0105

DAY THREE : I forgot to take a picture today. Luckily it wasn’t special. We made pizza’s in our house.

DAY FOUR:

What we ate today, might shock you. You will probably think : “Why??”. And the answer is :  because we can. We ate INDIAN TAKE AWAY from MINI INDIA in ESTEPONA.
No we aren’t crazy, we just love Indian Food, okay! Stop judging!
We ordered : Chicken tikka masala, chicken rogan josh and butter chicken (and garlic nan and rice). The butter chicken was extremely good and the other two dishes were also very nice! When you get take away the portions are large, and that’s a very nice plus.

IMG_0158
Yes, I already started eating. I just can’t help myself sometimes

IMG_0159img_0160.jpg

IMG_0162
I am enjoying it so much, I can’t even look into the camera. What Indian food does to a person.

IMG_0161

DAY FIVE : Today we ate something really special. It was our last night and we wanted to enjoy it. We went to LA ALCARIA DE RAMOS in ESTEPONA. It’s not super expensive but it’s very fancy. As a starter we took the Salmon Carpaccio. It was very nice! I’m beginning to love raw fish very much, and this dish only made me love it even more. As a main, we took the Duck with apples and other stuff I can’t name right now. It was very good. Especially the potatoes blew my mind. And last but not least, the desert. I took profiteroles and my boyfriend took the tarte tatin. OMG, those profiteroles. I can tell you with 100% certainty that those profiteroles came straight out of heaven. They were so good. I can’t even describe the goodness of this dessert. But trust me, it was AMAZING!

IMG_0198IMG_0199IMG_0201IMG_0202IMG_0206IMG_0207IMG_0208

So this was our last meal in Spain. I hope you enjoyed my blogpost. I enjoyed eating the food very much and I hope I gave you some ideas for whenever you guys are planning a trip to the COSTA DEL SOL.

See you next time!

My favorite places to eat in Ghent

Hi guys! Today I am going to talk to you about my favorite places to eat in Ghent. Not only for lunch but also for dinner!

LUNCH

For lunch I really like to go to :

Le Pain Quotidien :

This is a very nice place to get a quick and healthy bite in Ghent. There are two of these restaurants in Ghent and they are both located in the heart of the city. I really like to go there to enjoy some fresh and homemade lemonade and I can really enjoy some Lebanese Mezze for lunch. “Le Pain Quotidien” has a nice atmosphere and it doesn’t have anything unhealthy on the menu.

BAVET

I just love this place. It’s very close to my appartement and it has the best pasta in Ghent (in my opinion). My friends always tell me that I go to bavet too much but I don’t care because it is delicious. I ALWAYS take the Bavet Special with extra sauce ( a Large) and an Ice Tea. I go there so much that the people who work there are starting to know who I am. I think they already know what I am going to order but they keep asking me just to be sure. “Bavet” is a very nice concept. You can only choose between 5 kinds of sauces, 4 or 5 extra toppings and 2 kinds op pasta/cheese. And that is all I need. It isn’t expensive at all and it’s very close to the movie theatre. (you can also go eat there for dinner!).

EMMY’S EATS AND SWEETS

This lunch spot is just amazing. Every time I go to this place I order the same kind of lunch. They have these things calles “Flaguettes”. It is a round kind of bread with something delicious in the middle (for example : mozzarella, oil and vinegar, pesto, Parma ham, etc etc). They put everything on the bread and then they put the bread in a toaster oven for a few minutes et voila. It’s soooo goood!! I really really love this place and it’s also very close to my appartement. It’s in the student district and it has this very cosy vibe. You should definitely try this one out when you visit Ghent!

DINNER

Me and my boyfriend really like to go out for dinner sometimes and we have a few spots that we just adore.

HASTA MANANA

This is seriously the best TAPAS BAR in Ghent. It has a very nice interior and the music is always on point. The food is just amazing. You can order all kinds of tapas. Most of the time I order : patatas bravas, nachos con carne, albondigas, chicken wings, calamares, … (and I am forgetting some things 😀 ). I am not a big fan of the cocktails (me as an experienced cocktail drinker know what I am talking about haha 😉 ) and I think they are a bit overpriced but I go there for the food, not the drinks!

HIMALAYA

THE BEST CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA IN GHENT. IT’S GREAT. IT’S AMAZING. IT’S JUST ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

Just order the Chicken Tikka Masala with basmati rice and garlic nan. No more words are needed. (I can’t speak for any other dishes because I always order the same thing here haha).

PATRICK FOLEY’S IRISH PUB

The best BURGERS in Ghent. The guacamole burger is fantastic and the fries are delicious. The owners are actual irish people and that gives the restaurant an amazing vibe. It’s in the heart of Ghent and I really recommend this to everybody! It’s soooo good. (SLIME SLIME)

YAMMI YAMMI

This place is just YAMMI YAMMI. (lol)

The sushi in this place is amazing. The concept is that you can order 5 rounds and you can choose 5 dishes per round. It’s a kind of all you can eat/buffet concept and you can enjoy their delicious food for 3 hours on. In the evening you can not only order sushi dishes but also other japanese specialties. It’s new in Ghent and also situated in the student district. me, my boyfriend and our best friends went there about a month ago and it was one of the most fun nights I had in while. You should definitely go here and discover all of the different kinds of sushi! You will not be disappointed!

So! These are my favorite places to eat in Ghent! I hope you guys liked my post!

If you have any suggestions for me (places to enjoy some fooood in Ghent), Tell me in the comments

Love

Best coffee shops in Berlin

Hi guys, it’s been a long time but I have been very busy with going to Berlin and stuff. But today I am going to give you guys some coffee shop tips for when you are maybe going to Berlin some day.

Here we go!

1. Father Carpenter.

Me and my boyfriend went here immediately after we landed in Berlin and we did not only drink amazing coffee (mocha and flat white), but we also ate some delicious avocado toast. Seriously, this was probably the best avocado toast I have ever eaten in my life. It tasted incredible and I could eat this for days at a time. This coffee shop was filled with hipsters and other chill people and this place made me feel at home from the moment I set my foot in there. I definitely recommend this super cosy and yummy place to all of you guys! Oh, I also drank an incredible apple/ginger/mint juice. There are just no freaking words for this juice. The only think I can say is that I am going to steal my mothers juice maker next week so that I can try and replicate this heavenly juice. It was my favorite place in Berlin and I would definitely go back there when I visit Berlin in the future. It is hard to find because it is situated on a little square away from all the city nervousness. You can also buy some merchandise there and yeah, it’s just amazing. If there was something like this in Ghent, I would probably ask the owners if I could live there.

2. West Berlin Coffee

This coffee shop is nearby Checkpoint Charlie and at first sight it doesn’t look really cosy but once you are seated you get this really nice coffee shop feeling. They didn’t have Cafe Mocha but they did have a cappuccino. This Cappuccino was one of the best I have ever drank, it was very very very good and my boyfriend’s flat white was also very delicious according to him. There is one thing that I didn’t really like. They had a board with all of their options on it but I got the feeling that not everything they had was written on this board. I hate it when they don’t put all of the available food options on the board because that way I can maybe miss out on something very delicious.

3. The Barn Roastery

This place was very nice! It was the coffee shop with the nicest setting. They make their own coffee beans and the place just smells amazing when you walk through the door. The coffee was also very good but it had a special kind of taste. This is probably because of the fact that they make their own coffee beans. I think it is something you just like or you just don’t like. I like a regular cappuccino better, but I think there are a lot of people who like that extra spice in their coffee. This place is definitely worth your visit, not only for the coffee but also for the setting! If you want to get an amazing coffee shop feel, this is the place to be!

4. Rose Garden

This place had nice coffee and it also had a nice feel! The coffee was great but what I really noticed were the amazing looking sandwiches. I don’t know what was on all of them but they looked so good, OMG! I saw one sandwich and it had Guacamole AND Humus on it. I mean really, that probably tastes incredible. We also ate a homemade chocolate chip cookie and it was unbelievable. I think I could get in a food coma if they gave me an unlimited supply of these cookies! I really recommend this place to you guys! and it also isn’t really far from the Alexanderplatz which is kind of the centre of Berlin.

So, these are the coffee shops I went to! I hope you guys enjoyed my post about these amazing coffee shops. I will also be writing a post about the places where I went to eat and drink that aren’t coffee shops.

Also, from now on I am going to push myself to write a blogpost every week. I will post a new blogpost every tuesday and there will be a new youtube video every friday. I will be making my youtube videos in Dutch from now on, because most of my viewers are dutch and because I just like being me in my own language. You can already go ahead and subscribe to my channel if you don’t want to miss anything. And also hit the follow button on my blog (on the homepage in the right bar) if you don’t want to miss my weekly blogposts. See you next week guys!

Best coffee shops in Ghent.

Hi guys

Since it is getting colder outside, I thought it would be nice to write a blog about what I think are the best coffee shops in Ghent!

Let the countdown begin

4. Cafe Labath

This coffee shop is my number 4 on the list. This coffee shop is on a nice location, close to the shopping street. It is a very cosy coffee shop with a nice red and white wall. I like the lemonades there the most but the coffees are very nice too. The only thing I miss is some nice lounge music and a little more cosiness. But overall this coffee shop is definitely worth your visit.

3. Wasbar

I really like this one. You can do your laundry here while drinking a delicious coffee. This coffee shop has a very nice atmosphere and the coffees not only look delicious, they are delicious! There are 2 Wasbar coffee shops in Ghent. Their pastries are also very delicious. Also here I would love some more cosiness. Because of the laundry machines and blue/white colors I don’t get the warm feeling I would like to get when drinking my coffee. But the coffee is amazing!!

2. OR espresso bar

I love this one. It is close to my appartement and the coffee is amazing. Also the orange juice and lemonades are worth a try. I always feel like a professional blogger when I enter this coffee shop. This coffee shop is filled with hipsters drinking their coffee while typing on their apple macbooks. I love being surrounded by productive people! The atmosphere is amazing, the music is perfect for a coffee shop and I really love coming here.

1.  Take Five espressobar

This is my number one! First of all, I would like to say that I love the logo of this coffee shop. It is very original! The coffee … I just love the coffee here. You guys might already know that I love Cafe Mocha. This is the combination of coffee, milk and chocolate. There are not many coffee shops in Belgium with this specific coffee on the menu. But here, you can add chocolate to your latte or cappuccino and it is ALMOST a perfect mocha and it is delicious. You can add chocolate to your coffee in a lot of coffee shops, but in this specific place it tastes the best! The music in this coffee shop is perfect, the cosiness is on point and whenever I come here I never want to leave. This coffee shop is very new, but it already is a bombshell!

I hope you guys enjoyed my post! These are the coffee shops I enjoy the most! Which ones do you guys love the most in your hometown? Tell me in the comments below!

XOXO
