Foods that helped me lose weight!

Hi guys! Today I’m going to share with you the secrets behind the foods I’ve been eating during my new healthy lifestyle. They make me feel more fit, healthy and energized! They did not only help me lose weight and cellulite but they tasted very well! Here we go! You guys do need to keep in mind that there isn’t a magic trick that will help you lose weight. You need to adjust your lifestyle not only food-wise but you also need to incorporate workouts a few days a week! You can’t choose one of my food-tips and not change your unhealthy foodpaterns and think everything’s going to magically change. You need to just start eating healthy and nutritious foods.

  • A LOT OF WATER. Since I’ve changed my lifestyle, I’ve incorporated a lot of water in my life. It’s so healthy for literally everything you can think of! I try to drink at least 1,5 liters a day every day.
  • Green tea. Since I’ve been drinking this I’ve not only started to feel a lot more energized but I’ve noticed that it helped me lose some inches around my stomach. It also has a lot of other health benefits.
  • Apple cider vinegar pills. I’ve been taking these for a few weeks now and I’ve noticed that it really helps. I take the pills instead of pure vinegar because that could be very bad for your teeth. It helps boost your metabolism and it’s just so easy to do every day!
  • Apples. I’ve been eating a lot more apples because it boosts the function of your bowels. This is very good and that helps you to lose more weight. I switched to apples instead of cookies or other snacks! If you eat apples on top of unhealthy foods, it will not help you in any way!
  • Protein shakes and bars. This is also a new snack that I’ve been eating/drinking during the days. I do a lot of muscle training because muscle also burns fat and in order to let your muscle grow you need fuel. Fuel = Protein! BUT! Only eat or drink this if you work out on a regular basis and if you are building up muscle with your workouts. If you don’t do this and consume this type of food, it could have the opposite effect!
  • Every day for almost 2 weeks now, I’ve been eating an egg with some Spelt Bread in the morning. It’s full of protein and so good for your body! It also helps to keep the hunger away for a little while longer!
  • BEANS BEANS BEANS! They boost your metabolism, which helps you LOSE FAT! It’s also very delicious. You can make a healthy Chilli Con Carne for dinner and other bean recipes and you will certainly see the difference!
  • FISH. For a LONG time I didn’t like fish, but I’ve started to eat Tuna and Salmon the past month. It’s so good for your body and it’s also filled with protein. It contains of healthy fats and also boosts your metabolism. It’s very yummy in a salad or with some rice and vegetables! You can find a lot of different recipes online if you’d like to eat some more fish.
  • Chicken. I eat chicken almost every day. This is the food that has the lead role in my diet story.  It’s good for everything. Very nutritious, healthy and filled with protein yet again!
  • Olive oil and coconut oil. That’s what I’ve been using to cook my meals. It’s an easy change that can have a lot of effect! Leave the butter alone people!
  • My mom also makes a healthy variant of mayonaise with Apple Cider Vinegar to put on my healthy sandwiches (SPELT BREAD OR WHOLE GRAIN BREAD)
  • Dark chocolate. Whenever I’m craving something like candy I take a little piece of dark chocolate! It completely destroys my cravings and a little dark chocolate a day is very healthy.
  • Spelt everything. Spelt bread, Spelt Pasta, Spelt life. It’s way healthier than just plain white pasta!
  • Eat a lot of fruit! Especially before 16:00. It’s very good for your metabolism and for your body! Berries are a very good choice for example.
  • Greek yoghurt (natural) with some honey is one of my favorite snacks!
  • Avocado is just one of the best things you can eat when you’re trying to loose weight and above all of it’s health benefits, it’s extremely delicious aswell :O
  • Make everything a little spicier. It helps boost your metabolism which helps you lose more FAT

So that’s basically everything that has helped me in this journey. I hope my blogpost helped you guys a little and you can always ask me some other questions on my Instagram @lauralynnsworld!

See you next time babies

Healthy Snicker Bars

Hi!

Last weekend I made healthy snicker bars for the first time! They were so delicious and they didn’t taste very different from real snicker bars. Today, I’m going to share my recipe with you guys! This is what you’ll need for 8 small snicker bars.

  • Non salted peanuts (one small bowl)
  • 2 big spoons of peanut butter
  • 7 dates (DUTCH: Dadels)
  • Pure chocolate 150 gr
  • one spoon of coconut oil
  • a sprinkle of vanilla aroma and a sprinkle of salt

First of all you need to find a small glass casserole. Make a first layer out of peanuts. Melt the oil in a pan and mix the oil, peanut butter, dates, vanilla and salt into one smooth mixture. Use this mixture as the second layer.

The third layer consists of another layer of peanuts. After this, melt the chocolate and pour this above everything (4th layer).

Now put the casserole in the freezer for about an hour. To get the frozen snicker mixture out of the casserole, pour some hot water over the bottom and shake the casserole until it comes out. When this is done, cut into bars and enjoy!

Road to my dream body #UpdateOne

Hi guys! It’s been two weeks since I’ve started working out and eating clean to achieve my goal. I still have 5 weeks to go until my vacation to reach my goal, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop after my vacation. Today I’m going to talk about my progress, my food and my struggles during the past 2 weeks.

To talk about my progress a little first. I haven’t seen any difference on the scale over the past 2 weeks. BUT (!) I do see a very big difference in my body. Once again the confirmation that the scale will never be a friend to you!

There are changes that are clearly visible. My butt is a lot firmer and you can start noticing a thin “ab” line on my stomach! My legs feel stronger and they also look the part. The saddlebags are vanishing and I’m loving it! I’m literally finetuning my body and it’s clearly working. The overall fat is starting to disappear but there is one place on my body where the fat is relentless. My muffintops! The fat around this area just doesn’t want to give up and go. But I’m going to keep destroying it until it disappears into smoke!

Changes in my workout plan

I’ve also started to do 40 minutes of treadmill instead of 30 minutes and I feel like this is very effective. I haven’t tried out any of the other machines yet because I really like walking. I’ve also started to walk at a speed of 6 instead of 5,5. I try to keep my heartbeat between 118 and 138. When I keep my heartbeat in between these two cut-offs I’ll be able to burn the most fat! And this is exactly what I’m trying to accomplish.

I also fine-tuned my butt workout. I use the exercises from the following Blogilates videos.

  • Lift your booty workout | 5 moves to your fittest Butt
  • 6 min to Sexy Booty
  • Butt lifting and Thigh sculpting workout | POP pilates for Beginners
  • I really like you squat challenge
  • Fat burn total body focus

Foods I’ve been eating.

  • I’ve been drinking a lot more water but it’s still not enough! I need to drink even more water. The only thing I drink that’s not water is Cola Zero and coffee.
  • When I’m hungry in the evening, I eat some grapes! This really helps me.
  • I’ve eaten very clean the past few weeks! I’ve made a lot of chicken recipes and I’ve also tried two new healthy recipes
    • A Spelt pita with Tzatziki and Falafel! Very healthy and easy to make. I bought the spelt pita bread in ‘Albert Heijn’ just like the tzatziki and the falafel! I topped it off with some raw vegetables like carrots.
    • Spelt penne with chicken and spicy tomato sauce. I also bought all of this in ‘Albert Heijn’. It’s very easy to make and healthy but delicious.
  • I’ve tried not to cheat at all last week. The only fat thing I ate was a Spaghetti Bolognese and one Ice Tea.
  • I’ve also started eating one NAKD protein bar after every workout with banana flavor. It’s soooo good!

Struggles during the past two weeks

The biggest struggle I’ve been facing the past weeks is the craving. I sometimes have an enormous craving towards f.e. pizza or hamburgers. I get very annoyed when I can’t have it and it’s very hard not to give in to the cravings. This is proof of the fact that I’m a little addicted to fat and sugar! Thanks to my boyfriend, who is like a very strict fitness coach sometimes, I’ve been able to not touch these kind of foods. I’ve found that it works to drink a lot of water when I’m craving! Or just eat a banana of some berries. After half an hour the cravings go away slowly.

Another difficulty I’ve been facing is the workouts in the gym. When I need to do my squats and butt exercises, I find it difficult to just do my thing. I sometimes have the feeling that everybody’s looking at me while I’m doing my thing. And sometimes guys do stare, which is kind of annoying. But I’m ignoring it and I’m noticing it less and less every time.

I’ve also been having some problems with the scale. I know that it’s not the best way of measuring your progress but I have to admit that it’s very frustrating when the number on the scale doesn’t change. I need to realize that the number on the scale isn’t as important as the way you look in the mirror. I’m starting to learn this, but it isn’t that easy.

This is everything I wanted to share with you guys today. You’ll see a new progress blogpost in two weeks WITH before-after photo. If you have any questions or if there are any suggestions, you can ask them in the comments or you can send me an e-mail: lauralynnjoosten@yahoo.be. Work hard everyone! I hope you guys are working out with me! GO GO GO

XOXO

My Workout Plan

Hi guys!

I’ve decided to share my road to a more healthy body with you guys. I’m going to Mauritius in about 7 weeks and I’m going to try and get a beach body (or something close to it) in those 7 weeks. This is going to be hard, but I’m going to try. I thought it could be nice if I’d share my workout plan with you guys, not only because many of you are interested in it but also because I’d like you to work out with me! I think it would be very fun if we do it together. I’m going to keep you guys up to date with my workouts on instastories (@lauralynnsworld). I’m going to give you guys an update every week or two weeks about my progress and my difficulties that week. I will also make some videos about what I ate that week and maybe I’ll even try out a workout? Healthy food recipes will appear on the blog as well.

This is the first post I will write about my “Road to..”. I’m going to lay out my workout plan in general. So here we go.

I’m going to do a workout each monday, wednesday, thursday and saturday. I don’t think I’ll be able to workout every day because I’d like my muscles to recover as much as possible and I also have a busy school schedule that I have to combine with blogger activities. However, if I find the time on one of the days that I’d normally not workout I’ll do some ‘Blogilates’ videos.

First of all, I’ll always wear a fitbit charge 2 when I workout to track my calories and my heartbeat. This isn’t a necessity but I really like wearing it because it motivates me to kill myself during my workout.

On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I will be going to the gym. Each of these days I’ll start with 30 min of cardio. I really like walking “uphill” on the treadmill. I normally walk at speed 5,5 and my hill will be around 6%. The last 10 minutes I walk with a slope of 7%. I’m also going to the other cardio machines and I’ll tell you what I think about them in a blogpost. But at the moment this is what I will do as cardio. You can also do something else like running or on the elliptical machine.

On Monday I’ll focus on my legs. I’ll do 4 reps of each 10 lifts on each leg machine in the gym I go to. There are about 4 machines that train my upper legs and these are the ones I use. I put on a weight of about 18-24 kg but if you’re a beginner you should start with the minimum. After each sets of 10 reps, I wait 30 seconds before I move on to the next set. After my leg workout I’ll do a ab workout with my boyfriend. I do this PIIT (pilates high intensity interval training). This means that I’ll do one movement for about 45 seconds and then I get to rest for 15 seconds. After these 15 seconds I move on to the next movement. The total of movements I’m doing is 7. I got the different moves from the “Extreme Abs” videos on the Blogilates youtube channel. I will put them below but you can also make your own version with the ab videos you can find on the Blogilates youtube channel. If you don’t understand which kind of exercises this are, you can find out easily by searching them on Google.

  • Criss cross
  • Full Sit-up
  • Crunch with legs and arms twisted
  • Ankle reach
  • Corkscrew
  • Heel extension
  •  Earthquake

On Wednesday I’m going to do a big butt and thighs workout. I will also be doing this PIIT style like I described earlier. I’m going to try and change up my exercises each week and I’m going to chose exercises from the following videos.

There are a lot of other videos with a lot of other exercises so if you want to try something else you will definitely find it on the ‘Blogilates’ Channel.

After this I will also repeat the ab workout from Monday.

On Thursday I’ll also start with a 30 minute cardio workout. After that I will focus on my saddlebags and muffintops. Guess what, the exercises I use for this are also from Blogilates. Again I’ll do this PITT style like I described to you earlier. I really like following exercises and I will be changing them up each week. These are only a few examples! I will post the exercises I’ll do each week on my instastories and on my weekly progress blogpost (@lauralynnsworld)

On Saturday I’ll be doing a full Blogilates workout. I’ll start with 28 minutes of PIIT/HIIT/CARDIO. I mostly do the following videos:

Cardio beat workout, Ultimate fat burn workout , Wonder woman workout

You can also use videos from the PIIT calender which you can find on this website: https//:www.blogilates.com/

After these 30 minutes I’ll be doing a combination of abs and legs workouts with her videos.

This is my workout plan in a nutshell. Hopefully you guys like it and want to join me in my journey to a healthier body and lifestyle.

Tell me in the comments below what you’d like to see on my blog or youtube about this!

XOXO

My hair Analysis with L’oréal

Last Friday, I was invited to go to the L’oréal headquarters in Brussels for a hair analysis. L’oréal has designed a new product called a ‘Power Mix’. Thanks to all the different types of ‘Power Mixes’, the hairdresser can make a hair treatment that fits your hair type perfectly by mixing different things together. I had to fill in a form with all kinds of questions about my hair and about the way I treat it. After this, a professional hairdresser took a look at my hair and he told me exactly what my hair needed to look healthy and beautiful. He also told me that he loved my hair colour and that I had a colour that a lot of girls want. That made me blush a lot (hihi 🙂 ). The hairdresser was very kind and although he spoke French, I understood almost everything he told me (I was surprised by myself). The professional told me that my hair was very healthy overall but because of the fact that my hair is pretty long, I need a very nurturing and strengthening hair product. Because my hair is longer, my hair is also a lot more vulnerable. He suggested I’d start using the ‘Inforcer’ products mixed with a power mix called : Shot Nutri Glycerol. This is a nourishing additive. They mixed it and tested it on me immediately.

IMG_6017IMG_6019IMG_6025IMG_6029IMG_6035

The first thing I noticed when they started to wash my hair, was the smell. The smell of this product is just amazing. And the smell stays in your hair even after it’s dry. The ‘inforcer’ shampoo is very foamy and I really like that. After the shampoo, it was time for the hair mask mixed with the power mix. The power mix also smelled fantastic. I don’t know how they make their products smell this good, but I seriously love it.

IMG_6057IMG_6059IMG_6060

After they washed my hair, my hair smelled amazing and it was so soft! It was time to start brushing my hair. The hairdresser brushed my hair backwards to give it more volume, and it really worked. My hair had a lot more volume! But the most remarkable thing is the way my hair felt. It felt very light, soft and it smelled fantastic (yes, I already said this, but it’s just a fact!)

IMG_6066IMG_6079IMG_6085IMG_6090IMG_6114IMG_6118IMG_6141IMG_6152IMG_6154IMG_6156

I was very happy with the results and I got my personalized product home with me. I would seriously recommend it to everyone. It’s so important to treat your hair with the right care, and with this product your hair doesn’t miss out on anything. You can get your  personalized product at your local L’oreal hairdresser! I don’t know when exactly, but it’s coming!

Thanks for having me, L’oréal. As usual, it was a pleasure.

L’OREAL SERIE EXPERT

Schermafbeelding 2017-08-21 om 16.59.01

Hello and Welcome to another blog post!
Today I want to talk to you about one of my favorite new hair products : the new series expert line by L’oréal. It’s a line which helps repair damaged hair and it really works. In particular I am going to talk about the INFORCER. There also are other kinds of shampoo that work on other parts of the hair, but I liked this one the most!

First off I’d like to say that I got these products from L’oréal to try them out. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t give my honest opinion about them. Everything I write in this blog post about the new hair-line is my REAL opinion and it is not sponsored in any way.

taylor_hill_loreal_professionnel_serie_expert_produit_inforcer_4785.jpeg_north_499x_white

So I’d like to begin by saying that this hair-line smells amazing. Do you know the feeling you get when you get back from the hairdresser and your hair smells heavenly? Well, that’s the exact feeling I get when I am using this product. The shampoo has a soft structure and it smells INCREDIBLE. Also the hair mask has a very nice structure and I love to use it! There is also a leave in conditioner which I adore using. When I wake up my hair feels freshly washed! Every time I use one of the new products my hair smells and feels amazing. It feels very soft and I have less breakage (I seriously mean this when I am telling you this!). I am someone who has very fragile hair. It breaks very fast and it’s very hard to handle. But with this product my hair is thicker and looks way healthier. As usual L’oréal didn’t disappoint!

I also used it in Vietnam. Normally when I go traveling my hair has to endure a lot and because of that my hair looks like a mess sometimes. I had way less troubles with my hair this holiday because of this product line!

I would very much like to recommend this hair line to you guys, I am seriously in love!

How to get that bikini body : My Journey #1

Hi guys!

Today I want to talk to you about my newest addiction. SPORTS and BEING HEALTHY. About a month ago (one month and a half or so) I started doing Blogilates on Youtube because I wanted to get rid of all the fat that I didn’t want to see anymore. I didn’t like the way I looked anymore and I didn’t feel good. I didn’t feel healthy at all and I felt like a loser a lot of the time.

So I started with PIIT (Pilates Intensity Interval Training) and Muscle workouts for my legs and abs. I really wanted to look better and feel better asap. At first, it was very hard to do the sports and to have the perseverance to do it. I was very lazy and I just watched Netflix all the time. This resulted in the fact that I stopped doing my Blogilates Calender after one week.

But 2,5 weeks ago, I saw myself in the mirror. I really didn’t like how my body looked and I saw a lot of flaws on my body. I normally had a lot of confidence but I just felt lazy all the time, I felt like a loser and the only thing I saw when I looked in the mirror was my cellulite and my fat. I could literally cry.

I didn’t start doing sports because of other people, because I really don’t care about what other people think. I am also of the opinion that you only need to start a diet when YOU don’t like the way you look. You never need to start doing this for others because it will not make you happier. You need to do it for yourself and if you feel good the way you are, just keep feeling that way and don’t care about what other people say! You also don’t need to care about all the extremely skinny girls in the world. Every body is unique and beautiful in it’s own way. You never need to start dieting because you want to look like a supermodel because there is this thing called photoshop and it makes girls look like BayWatch babes when they are really just like anyone else. You only need to start working out when you want to feel en look healthier, not because you want to look like the girls in the magazines. (I do recommend to you that you have to try and eat as healthy as possible because that is way better for your body and maybe it will make you live a little longer 😉 )

I started working out because I wanted to feel and look better for myself. And I also wanted to feel a lot more energized. So I just did it. I downloaded the Blogilates Calender and I started doing sports every two days. One day I would do cardio and two days later I would do abs or legs. I started drinking much more water and I started eating healthier.

After a few days I wanted to do more. I started to try and walk a lot more throughout the day because I had the feeling that I didn’t walk enough. (I’m a student and I spend a lot of time behind my desk). I began to go take fast walks with my dog and I really liked it. I also started doing cardio and abs/legs on the same day, every two days.

I also wanted to get rid of my cellulite so I started taking a lighter contraceptive pill and I started putting on cream every morning and evening. And after one week I already see the results!

I just wanted to write this blogpost because I wanted to let people know that everyone can lose weight and feel healthier if they really put work into it. If you feel bad about yourself on a daily basis and if you really don’t like the way you look. Just change it. You have the power in your hands and if you really want it, you can do it.

I have been doing all of the above (intensely) for about three weeks and I eat healthier every day. I already feel and see the results. I feel very energized ( my boyfriend is sometimes frustrated about it haha) and I really like the way my body is starting to look. I’m only doing this for a few weeks and I already look and feel much much better.

18516108_10207190460800359_1447818865_n

So, now I am going to tell you what I do every day (every two days)  :

  • every two days I do my workout : I start with a PIIT video from Casey Ho on youtube. After this I do a cardio video from Casey Ho.
    • If I want to work on my abs I do one of the EXTREME ABS videos (once or twice)
    • If I want to work on my legs I do one of the LEG videos (I mostly use the videos that you can find on Casey Ho’s Calender for my leg workouts)
  • Every day I try to take a 30 minute walk (I try to walk as fast as I can) with my dog.
  • I try to drink 2 liters of water every day
  • I use the app : LifeSum
    • It helps me track my calories and it helps me to not eat unhealthy snacks. If you go over the maximum amount of calories for one day, you circle turns red. I really feel bad when this happens so I try to avoid it and I succeed most of the time.
  • I try to eat a healthy breakfast. I normally don’t eat breakfast (yeah, I know it’s not healthy) but I am trying to change that!
  • I try to not eat unhealthy snacks. I push myself to eat as healthy as possible (but sometimes I take one little chocolate if I want to 😀 )
  • I mostly try to eat NORMAL. I don’t STARVE myself, I just try not to eat unhealthy and not to eat too much! (mindful eating)
  • I only drink Cola Zero if I want something other than water

So this is what I do to feel healthier and to look better every day. I hope I inspired you to be healthier. Maybe I gave you the push you needed to try this all yourself.

I hope you liked my post a little bit! What do you like to do to be healthier?

Tell me below!

Greets
